Suspected Boko Haram Members Kill 16 In Yobe, Destroy More Telecommunication Masts

At least 16 persons were killed today in both Damaturu and Potiskum, Yobe state by suspected Boko Haram members who continued the destruction of telecommunication masts in Northern Nigeria, which began yesterday in Maiduguri and Kano.
The attacks reportedly began at 8 p.m yesterday through the night, and masts belonging to Etisalat, Globacom and Airtel were destroyed using Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and petrol-bombs.
Seven masts were destroyed in Damaturu and five in Potiskum.
Also razed down were the offices of Yobe state Ministry of Religious Affairs, the state Pilgrims Welfare Board, Hajj Camp, Local Government INEC Office and most of the structures at the Government Secondary School Damaturu. A fire fighting vehicle was also torched.
The Joint Taskforce (JTF) in the state reportedly arrested four suspects along Gujba road attempting to destroy another mast and they are currently been questioned.
Is this the latest trend…? Just when you think you’ve seen it all… Telecommunication masts kwa? Hian!
