Three Bombs From The Civil War Discovered By Construction Site Workers In Enugu

Three unexploded bombs, apparently remnants of explosives used during the Nigerian civil war have been discovered at a construction site in Enugu by labourers digging a foundation.

Dr. Emeka Uhegbu, the Field Administrator of the Nigerian Mine Action Centre, a department of the Federal Ministry of Defence, stated in a press release shortly after the removal of the three unexploded bombs at the site close to the 9th Mile area of Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, that the bombs, had they not been found, could have exploded and killed people. And that over 50, 000 unexploded explosives are presently littered across 12 states of the South-East, South-South and North-Central i.e. Benue and Nasarawa states.
Begs the question: am I living on a bomb…?
Another reason to live with bated breath. Like we don’t have enough already…
