Gun Battle Between Military Men And Boko Haram Insurgents In Kano; 12 Cars Vandalised In Jos Clash On Eid-el-Fitr

It has been reported that yesterday some gun-totting youths returning from Eid prayers, probably out of sheer joy from the Eid-el-Fitr festivities or celestial guidance, had allegedly hurled stones at residences in Farin Gida, Jos. Also destroying about 12 cars in the parking lot of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in said area.
It had taken the intervention of a Special Task Force to keep the youths in the predominantly Christian area from going on rampage, on a reprisal attack that could have escalated quickly into the now-regular Nigerian headline news: death toll, casualties, and body count.
The Eid-el-Fitr celebration in Kano was also reportedly marked by fireworks. Alas, not the regular celebratory kind, but that which comes out of firearms.
A policeman was reportedly injured when suspected Boko Haram members fired at a military roadblock along Maiduguri Road, Kano.
And if I hadn’t wished y’all Happy Eid-el-Fitr, well I just did…
