Traditional Parliament In Imo To Fix Common Bride Price Throughout The State And Mandate The Speaking of Igbo Language In Schools

Owing to the increased number of unmarried youths in their communities, the Traditional Parliament in Imo, state in eastern Nigeria, has passed its a resolution on the harmonization of bride price all through the state, titled, Motion on the Harmonization of the Marriage Institution in Imo.
The idea is to make marriage less cumbersome and cheaper to both the family of the bride and the groom.
Another motion tabled before the parliament was the Motion On The Presentation and Sharing of Kola nuts in Imo and the issue of speaking of Igbo Language compulsory in the state schools was raised.
The motion on kola nuts would be deliberated upon by a committee that would be formed by the parliament while that on the speaking of Igbo Language would be reintroduced.
😡
I want to know what y’all think of this new development.

  1. Long awaited… Let it be reasonably low so we can comfortably ‘toast’ their babes and not be frightened by ‘exorbitant rates’ in the name of bride prices. Winks… Though, the kolanut aspect I don’t understand.
